This is an older video, and despite my aversion to kinetic typography, I think its message is an important one to spread.
While not specifically talking to designers, Ira Glass offers some words of encouragement to anyone working in a creative industry: be persistent and don’t quit when your work doesn’t live up to your own high expectations. This is great advice, and something I don’t expect to ever completely overcome in my own career as a designer. After all, if I can’t find something to improve on after every project I finish, what have I got left to play for?
I would urge anyone working in a creative field (particularly those just starting out) to consider the message of this video and pass it on to anyone else who might be in need of some encouragement.
