When it comes to concept artists, Craig Mullins is undoubtedly one of the most highly regarded in the business. During his 20-year career, Craig has created matte paintings for a variety of big budget films, as well as illustrations for book covers and Magic: The Gathering cards.
Today, I want to share some of Craig’s work from the gaming industry, where he has built quite a reputation over the years with his concept art for titles such as BioShock 2, Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3 and the Halo series.
While Craig has vast experience in traditional media, the majority of his commercial work is digitally painted using custom brushes, which is what gives his paintings their recognisably traditional feel.
Featured below is a collection of some of Craig’s most iconic video game concept art. And don’t forget to check out more of his incredible work at his personal website.
